What is the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank?

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral financial institution led by China and created for promoting economic integration and interdependence in the Asian region as well as for liaising closely with other multilateral development banks such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. The main objective of the bank is to finance the development of infrastructure in Asia and nearby regions. At first, in fact, it was designed as an instrument mainly aimed at supporting the projects of the One Belt One Road Initiative (OBOR) however, its mission was then expanded.

For further information you may purchase from this website in digital version an essay (English and Italian version) that provides a detailed analysis of the AIIB.
